There are several events planned for this day throughout the islands, as the calculations and talks have been circulating on where the eclipse best can be experienced.
On March 20th we will experience a total solar eclipse in The Faroe Islands. The last time this happened was in 1954 and many still remember this as a remarkable experience.

In Klaksvík there is an exceptionally beautiful bay named “Borðoyavík”, and Klaksvík Municipality has picked this spot, where the foreshore at the bay will serve as the reception area for the event on March 20.
Visitors and all citizens of Klaksvíkar Kommuna are invited to join in the celebration at Borðoyavík on Friday morning March 20th at 8.45 AM, and the municipality will provide refreshments in the form of coffee, pastries, and juice and sweets for the children.
Norðoya Kunningarstova is organizing the event and is advising proper attire, such as warm clothes and rain boots.
